Report: NFL Teams Scouting Merrimack QB Joe Clancy

According to a report by’s Shaun DePasquale, at least one NFL is seriously scouting Merrimack College quarterback Joe Clancy.

“Scouts take on Merrimack QB Joe Clancy: Top QB in the D2 ranks,” DePasquale tweeted. “Huge production and progress as senior. Has NFL ability & their attention.”

He continued, “Confirmed that at least one NFL team is showing great interest in Merrimack QB Joe Clancy .. already scouted him out.”

Through seven games this season, Clancy has passed for 2,950 yards on 268-of-410 passing (65.4%), throwing 34 touchdowns and just five interceptions; Clancy has averaged 421.4 yards per game and has a passer rating of 150.7.

According to NFL Draft Diamond’s website, “DePasquale has watched and studied college and professional football since about 1997. He got his start in writing in 2004 with “On the Clock Draft”, and in 2006 helped to found a later NFL Draft website , “The 2 Minute Drill”. Shaun was picked up by NFL Draft Zone in January 2013, where he helped to scout and spot eventual NFL talents such as New England Patriots RB Quentin Hines, Patriots DB Duron Harmon, Cincinnati Bengals LB Jayson DiManche, Detroit Lions RB Steven Miller and Tampa Bay Buccaneers LB Ka’Lial Glaud, before any other draft media outlets. He is based out of Central New York.”
