After this past weekend, there are no ties in the Hockey East standings.
Boston University still has, by far, the easiest road out, with its remaining opponents winning just 40.1% of their games thus far. Merrimack College, which had the toughest schedule remaining before this past weekend, now has the third toughest, with Vermont (.527) and Lowell (.562) ahead of them.
In reality, the weekend couldn’t have gone worse for Lowell. A pair of losses to Merrimack and Maine dropped them from 7th to 18th in the Pairwise and they’re now sixth in Hockey East with the toughest schedule remaining.
Should be Lowell (.562) and Providence (.537) instead of Lowell and Vermont.
If we consider BC and UNH to be a lock for #1 and #2, and give BU the inside track on #3 due to their easier schedule, then MC has the easiest schedule of all the teams competing for 4th except for Amherst, who are the furthest back and the only home ice contender currently under .500.
Still… tight race.
