Hockey East has confirmed, via press release, that Merrimack senior defenseman Kyle Bigos has been suspended one game after being assessed his second game misconduct in Sunday’s 3-1 Merrimack loss to UMass Lowell. On record, it was Bigos’ third game misconduct of the season after he was assessed a game misconduct in supplemental discipline following a 5-minute kneeing major in a game at Providence on Feb. 17.
Bigos was assessed the penalty at the 20-minute mark of the third period on Sunday and will sit out Friday’s game against Massachusetts at Lawler Arena.
Bigos, who will miss Merrimack’s senior night, is eligible to return to the lineup on Saturday at Massachusetts.
The release read:
“The Hockey East Association announced on Wednesday a one-game suspension for Merrimack College senior defenseman Kyle Bigos, after receiving his second game misconduct last Sunday, March 4 vs. UMassLowell, to go along with a third in the form of league supplemental discipline.
Bigos will be eligible to return to the Warriors’ lineup on Saturday, March 9 at Massachusetts.”
