Frank Vatrano returns to the Junior Bruins (EJHL) after leaving Boston College

In a surprise move, Frank Vatrano, who left the Boston College program on Tuesday, has returned to the Junior Bruins of the Eastern Junior Hockey League according to a EJHL source, and later confirmed by the Junior Bruins.
Vatrano left BC on Tuesday. According to sources, he did not leave BC on his own terms. He is no longer enrolled at the college, having officially withdrawn.
By returning to the Bruins, Vatrano leaves his NCAA eligibility in place. Sources speculated on Tuesday that could ink a deal with the Moncton Wildcats of the QMJHL, who own his Major Junior rights. On Wednesday morning, the Dubuque Fighting Saints (USHL) claimed the forward and added him to their protected list, but ultimately, he chose to remain local.
As of Wednesday morning, Vatrano was still expected to participate in this weekend’s All-American Prospects Game in Buffalo, New York.
Vatrano will practice with the Juniors Bruins on Wednesday.
According to several well-placed sources, Vatrano left BC over an “academic issue.”
