Former Pinkerton Player Top Uncommitted Ranked by CSS
- Updated: January 16, 2013
Former Pinkerton Academy (New Hampshire) forward Zach Sanford is ranked 83rd by NHL Central Scouting for the upcoming NHL Draft in June. Sanford is currently playing for the Islanders Hockey Club (EJHL), which entered a partnership with Merrimack College last year as part of the Volpe Expansion Project. Sanford was also coached at Pinkerton by former Merrimack forward Casey Kesselring.
From what I have been told, several Hockey East schools are interested in Sanford, including Merrimack and Lowell.
In other recruiting news, 6-foot-6 forward Tyler Hill has left Hotchkiss and will finish the season in Chicago (USHL). Hill was ranked 85th by Central Scouting and along with Sanford, are the top two uncommitted players on the list. According to sources, Hill is being heavily courted by an ECAC school.
Cam Askew, a BU recruit, will play a handful of games for the Indiana Ice later this season under the tender rule. Askew is one of the top scorers in prep hockey this season at Cushing Academy.
