Bigos suspended for Friday’s game vs. UMass

NORTH ANDOVER — Merrimack senior defenseman Kyle Bigos will miss Merrimack’s senior night, serving an automatic one-game suspension after being assessed his third game misconduct of the season in Merrimack’s 3-1 loss to Lowell on Sunday.

As the game expired, Bigos was in the middle of a pack of players. He was assessed a five-minute major for contact to the head along with a game misconduct at the 20:00 mark of the third period after making contact with Lowell’s Chad Ruhwedel.

It’s Bigos’ third game misconduct of the season, which according to NCAA rules, mandates an automatic one-game suspension. According to the rule, on the third (and every ensuing misconduct after that) the player will be suspended for one game.
