NORTH ANDOVER – Salisbury defenseman Aaron Titcomb gave a verbal commitment Merrimack College on Friday while making his official visit to North Andover. A 6-foot-4 defenseman, Titcomb played at Brewster Academy last season and captained the team, scoring 15 points (6-9–15) in 20 games.
According to a report, Massachusetts was also eyeing Titcomb.
Titcomb is from Charlestown and also played some high school hockey at Austin Prep before joining the Bridgewater Bandits (EJHL).
His journey to Division 1 hockey is quite the story, as highlighted here in a story printed last year, including overcoming the death of his father, a broken collarbone and, believe it or not, a broken neck (broken C-3 and fractured C-4 verterbrae as well as a concussion) suffered just two years ago.
Titcomb is also a standout baseball player, in fact, he captained Brewster’s baseball team last season as well. According to The Boston Globe, Titcomb batted .500 for Brewster last season, with two home runs and 18 runs batted in.
